To measure sound level or noise level in the field (on-site), use a sound level meter.
Depending on the precision required, the general-purpose sound level meter NL-42 or high-precision sound level meter NL-52 can be selected.
Both models have a help function that facilitates use in the field also without consulting the instruction manual.
The meters are waterproof (IP54 rating, excluding microphone), so sudden rain during outdoor use is not a problem.
Set frequency weighting to "A", and set time weighting to "F" (Fast) or "S" (Slow), as appropriate for the type of sound to be measured.
Use of the NX-42EX option enables continuous recording of instantaneous sound level Lp, equivalent sound level Leq, etc.
Recorded data can be managed with the AS-60 data management software for environmental measurement.
